Public Transport is very expensive in Sydney in my opinion. There is no such free tramzonw as in melbourne or something like that. There is as well a rechargeable card called go card which you can buy at the nearest station or ezymarts. The prices vary on tines of travel and there is also a continuation, so when you have to change a transport vehicle you have to always tap on and off every time but the next vehicle is a continuation so it is not as expensive. But we still spend a lot of your money on transportation.
The City is obviously very expensive. Eating and Attractions are more expensive as in Melbourne or somewhere else. But it is Sydney so nobody is shocked I guess…
Sydney is enormous! Walking around the only CBD takes ages and we were so shocked to see that 2 stops by metro take about 25 minutes by foot. And also the Harbour is so much further away from central station than you may think. So you definitely need to go buy public transportation.
Ferries are also a part of the public transport system, so you can easily play with your go card. But ferries are more expensive than a metro, but it is also so much cooler to go buy the opera house etc. And the ferries even go super regelmäßig from circular quay.
Sydney is famous for its great beaches. Definitely plan some time to go to Bondi and Manly. You will not regret it!
It is hard to get a good Food Spot in the CBD because there is not a lot of selection and the few spots are super expensive. Newtown is just two stops away from the CBD and has a lot of great shops and restaurants.
