If you have more time on this unbelievable beautiful island than you are super lucky and take this post as an inspiration on the best things on Magnetic
It doesn’t matter if you are staying there for 2 nights and have one whole day or just take a Daytrip from Townsville to magnetic. The island isn’t very big and you have enough time to see the best things.
If you are looking for a place to stay I can recommend the hostel celina a lot as well as getting around is taking the bus the most confinant and most inexpensive for just 7 dollars per day. Of course you can rent a car if you like and feel the wind in your face with one of the cute cars, but it isn’t a must do in my opinion, the island is so small there are not a lot of roads to discover….
At best you start the day with the Forts walk. There is a lot of historical background to this walk and it ends at the best lookout over the island. If you are lucky you can spot some cute wild koalas in the trees! After the lookout we would recommend going further to Florence Bay to relax and chill a bit and maybe picnic or just lay on the beach with a gold book.
Afterwards you can take the bus to SOS Seafood, our favourite restaurant on magnetic to eat fresh caught seafood or something sweet from the shop next to it!
4 Square is not far away and perfect to buy Wallaby food (cucumbers, bananas, apples etc.) Shortly before Sundown head to the Rock Wallaby Rocks and wait for the little guys to come out! Try maybe to place some little snacks on the rocks or feed them with your bare hand! Now catch the ferry or grab dinner at Scallywag and enjoy your evening on such an amazing island!
This post was all about a one day itinerary of magnetic island and everything you need to know before going there!
