Maybe you are backpacking Australia like me and need a great melbourne hostels to stay and maybe work there, this blogpost is right for you!
Our favourite one was definitely the village. A little bit more expensive and the rooms are not big, but every floor has its own kitchen and there is a big common room, which we loved a lot. It is so central and perfect for meeting new people and an aldi is also nearby. Some people we know even worked at the reception for discounts, so perfect for someone searching for a job as well. Also a plus point is that the reception is open 24/7.
The most central hostel we stayed at was mcb melbourne, and it was such a cute hostel. The paintings were so sweet and for people who stay in melbourne longer, because they have a job here, than this hostel is great for you. Many people stayed there for a while, because the hostel offers discounts for people who would like to stay there a month or longer. It honestly felt a little bit like a big family.
We also stayed at yha metro which is the one a little bit more far away from the centre. Most of the people who we met stayed there also for some nights. It was okay. For just a quick visit not too expensive but it is in comparison to the other ones not that great. But the location after all is good. It is just a 5 min. walk to the queen victoria market and also to the free tram zone, so not too bad. Most important: The Rooftop is a dream! And the yha ones are always ok for their money value. You can find them in almost every town along the east coast. Always a save option!
We heared so many good things about that hostel! It is directly next to Flinders Station!
Quick Tipp: We always book our hostels over the hostel world. Easy to cancel and also easy to look over the hostels which are available and how much they cost per night and also how good of a ratings it has etc.
Thank you for reading this post and I wish you a great stay in Melbourne.
