bali ubud travel

In this post you will find the ultimate guide to the top 8 things to do in Ubud, Bali.

1. Rafting Ayung River

You should definitely go rafting on the Ayung River! There are plenty of different Organisations who provide such activity, I would recommend Bali Bintang Rafting. You are on the water for about 2 hours and also have lunch at this price, it was a lot of fun. But you do have to walk about 200 stairs to the river, which is exhausting but totally worth it, and for everyone. It is not that dangerous or anything.

2. Waterfall Hunting

Waterfall Hunting is a must do in Ubud. Grab a moped and drive around the osland to find the best waterfalls where not many people are. I would recommend: We also were at the Tegalalang waterfall which is near Ubud, but also there are so many people, but there is a great Dayclub there.

3. Cooking Class

If you want to learn more about the Balinese Cooking, you should definitely visit such cooking class. It is amazing to cook these meals yourself and maybe try these at home as well. I would recommend taking the Pemulan Cooking Class, where you can also harvest your supplies and cook together and eat everything as well. Our Cook was so sweet and friendly and we had a great time.

4. Go on Mount Batur

When you don’t mind waking up early and walking for a long time, then you should hike to top of the Mount Batur. It is very steep, but if you still wanna see this mountain there is also a possible way to drive up there with a jeep. You should definetly go there in the morning at sunrise. It is a once in a lifetime experience!

5. Rice field Terraces

The Rice Field Terraces are a must do, just because Ubud is famous because of these, but i still want to be honest and say the price is not worth the hype. The Terraces are beautiful and all but you have to pay a high amount to go on a swing and just walk there 2 metres. We were at Swing Heaven and it did cost us 300 000 per person so not that cheap for 1 Hour or so.

6. Monkey Forest

If you are a friend of a monkey then this is the right place to be. For me the monkeys were just rude and I was a little scared of them. The first monkey I saw wanted to steal my water bottle. I would recommend taking the shortcut next to the monkey forest, you still see some monkeys but don’t have to pay a lot of money, when you are not staying there for a long time and just wanna see some monkeys and go.

7. Drive through the jungle with a Quad

You like going on adventures? Then driving through Balis Jungle is the perfect activity. But you should definitely bring some changing clothes.

8. Temple visit

Of course you can’t miss some of Bali’s ultimate flair and visit a typical temple, with a washing ceremony and so on. The most famous and from ubud the best to reach is

Hopefully this blog post can help you to plan your ultimate trip to bali! Thank you so much for reading.
